In Austria, Paul learned about theuse of printing technology and wanted to see if he could use a printing processto mount all the components on a single insulating board instead of manuallyconnecting them with wires. In 1936, to make a radio, he developed his own PCB.But PCBS didn't catch on at first, and it wasn't until the 1950s that theybecame more widely used.

 

3. How is PCB designed now?

 

To make a PCB, you must first design thelayout of the PCB, which is usually done by CAD (computer aided design). CAD isused to draw schematics and design the layout of the PCB so that possibleerrors can be detected before the PCB is manufactured.
